About the Book
"Circles are happiness." They are complete, eternal, and focused. Like this series of selectively framed photographs of various circles, people find their lives fragmented by outside influences and rhythms, creating separations and changes in human interactions and development. At the same time people seek adventure and diversity as well as familiarity. By juxtaposing elements of completion and fragmentation, these photographs visually embody difference. Buddhist monk, teacher, author, poet and peace activist, Thich Nhat Hanh wrote, "Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy." Wholeness cannot be appreciated without fragmentation.
