“Mundane Brilliance” is the perfect oxymoron for this photography series because it describes the subject-matter of my images so well. Every day, passers-by rarely, if ever, notice those commonplace details about our world that make it beautiful; that is the whole point of my collection. I am inspired by vibrant hues, flowers that sparkle without cheap glitter, nearly neon garbage cans, blue skies, and shiny shoes. Hopefully those who view my work will appreciate these everyday objects and occurrences just a bit more, and find a touch of the fantastic in the ordinary.
