Alan is mostly alone. After his mother's tragic death, his father goes into a deep depression, from which he has never resurfaced. Alan soon discovers though, that he has the power to navigate to another world where he meets Alice, the deadly librarian of his dreams. He must learn to harness his powers there and fight phisically there what he can't in his own world. Like his hopeless drunken father, insane obsessive therapist, and self concious best friend.
