About the Book
After graduating from Syracuse University in 1951 with an Art degree, Joan Butler quickly landed a job as a graphic artist at Dey Brothers department store in Syracuse, NY producing graphic art for newspaper advertisements. She then moved west to Denver Colorado in search of adventure skiing in the Rocky Mountains. To fuel her passion for downhill skiing, Joan used her graphic art skills for the advertising department of The Denver Post in Denver Colorado. The pages in this book document some of Joan's graphic art work during the early 1950's.
