About the Book
Rajasthan, 'land of kings', is the largest state of the Republic of India by area. Bordered by Pakistan to the west, it encompasses most of the area of the large, inhospitable Great Indian Desert or Thar Desert.
Rajasthan is famous for its majestic forts and intricately carved temples, built by Rajput kings in previous ages. It is endowed with natural beauty and a great history. The palaces of Jaipur, the lakes of Udaipur, and the desert forts of Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer rank among the most preferred destinations in India for many tourists both Indian and foreign.
All photographs in this book were taken by the author in December 2010.
