David Snow is a Newfoundland-born marine biologist with a passion for whales. During the summer he leads Newfoundland and Labrador tours featuring puffins, icebergs, polar bears, caribou herds, fossils, some of the planet's largest seabird colonies, and some of the world's largest whale gatherings.

Wildland Tours has been promoting Newfoundland and Labrador-based orca watching trips since the 1990s. This book summarizes many of the pioneering discoveries travellers and local whale enthusiasts have made about the region's orcas.
