Streets of Joy examines and celebrates the Brazilian Carnival. Photographed over a seven year period, the sepia-toned black and white film images document how tradition, creativity, imagination and fantasy are joined togethor by music to bring the historic streets of Brazilian colonial cities to life.
After working as an award-winning newspaper photojournalist and art director for nearly forty years, Starkey now works as an artist and lives part-time in Sayulita, Mexico.
