Howard Christopherson creates fine art photographic work revolving around three themes; People, Places and Dreams. In this book ‘Only People’ we see 60 images of people from the USA, Italy, Japan, Peru and Hungary. Each image in this book is a black and white medium format film capture. Christopherson then prints each image himself in a traditional darkroom.
The title ‘Only People’ expresses Christopherson's belief that we all are equal and as important. We are all ‘Only People’ regardless of our skills or social status. Christopherson makes images of all types of people, successful inventors, gallery owners, photographers, politicians, homeless people, children, old people, young people, collectors of things, artists and people at work. Christopherson is on a constant search for new subjects. His quest has guided him to the floating islands on Lake Titicaca and villages of Peru, the grass prairies and governor’s office of the Midwestern United States, the busy streets of Tokyo, Japan, the back streets of Budapest, Hungary and Italy.
