Note: This is the updated version where the bar code is not cut off when printed.
Photos for the Gulf: First Anniversary Edition and its predecessor, Photos for the Gulf (http://j.mp/gulf-book), were composed in response to the disaster caused by the BP oil spill. It is a disaster that continues to impact the Gulf region one year after the spill.
The pages within include photographs and reflections by 22 amateur and professional photographers that depict life on the Gulf Coast. It also includes an introduction by Dr. Erin K. Grey, a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where she has been researching the effects of the oil spill on marine life.
The Contributors are: dawn m. armfield, B.J. Burton, Margaret Coughlin, PK Donson, Sharon Gerald, Billie Hara • David Johndrow, Christopher W. Luhar-Trice, Neha Luhar-Trice, Marianne Marcel, Frank Myers, David Morgen, Stephen Pearlman, Cheryl Rutherfor, Christina Steidl, Torri Thompson, Sanford Tweedie, Michael Waddell, Nora Whalen, Jimmy White, Stephanie Willson, and Bill Wolff.
This completely revised edition dedicates 2 pages to each photo and reflection combination, employing more dynamic and varied layouts than in the prior edition.
All proceeds from sales of this book ($4.00 per book) will be donated to The Gulf Restoration Network (http://healthygulf.org) to help support their relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico.
So far we have raised $915; help us reach our goal of $5000.
This version of the book has an ISBN and barcode, enabling it to be sold in stores. It also has a Library of Congress control number, enabling it to be cataloged by libraries.
