Click to preview Vernacular Spectacular: photo book

Vernacular Spectacular is a collection of thirty-six images which have been scanned from a collection of old slides found on eBay.

The photographs in this book have no provenance or explanation; some images are dated, others are not. The unknown adds to the mysterious nature of these captivating images.

This book is the third in the series by Hannah-Felicity Copely which focuses on found imagery taken by amateur photographers throughout the years.

About the Author

Hannah Felicity Copely
hannahfc Leicestershire, England, UK.

My name is Hannah and I am a photobook artist from Leicestershire, England. I have recently graduated with an MA in Photography from De Montfort University.

I work within the realms of appropriated photography. I use existing imagery to create new concepts and ideas. I have an interest in the vernacular; old snap shots, family albums... The death of a photograph as a physical (almost precious) object is something which drives me to create.
