How It All Started
Six years as executive editor, writer and photographer for an aviation magazine in Portugal gave me the chance to photograph a passion I’ve since my younger days: airplanes.
Looking at all the images collected those years and searching on the web, I discovered that there have not been many books published about photographing airplanes in recent years. And as far as I know, no book published in Portugal about the theme. In fact it seems that these guides went out of fashion some two decades ago…
SEEING Instead Of Looking!
In fact, it’s SEEING that has helped me to do most of my aviation photography. Seeing, and daring to try new things, sometimes (I keep hidden the failed shots from my experiences…). I don’t go much for the usual end of the day orange sky shots that so many others do, I like the bold colors you can get in the harsh hours of the day ( I was a Fujifilm Velvia and Ektachrome Panther user in film days) and Lightroom gives me the tools to fine tune that back at home.
Iam a journalist, photographer, writer of technical books and editor of a photography website (and a videogames website) besides leading photo tours and workshops in Portugal
