About the Book
This book is the product of an intensive study of the Illinois Valley, Oregon, by a group of nine students at Illinois Valley High School. Mrs. Kirsten Valenzuela wanted to give her students a sense of pride in their home and their history and this book was the culmination of hours of study and writing. The students took the first class about the valley, then took an advanced class with the help of a local historian and writer, and over three months created this stunning product. Each chapter tackles a different area of the valley and is written by an author with a clear voice, personality and purpose, allowing the reader to experience the book afresh from beginning to end. This book is certainly a labor of love, submitted with pride for residents and visitors alike to this amazingly beautiful and diverse valley: the Illinois Valley.
