In February 1991, 3 men placed an advert in a gay London publication and Time Out announcing, “A gay football team is being set-up”. They were amazed by the number of replies and a kick about by like-minded men soon developed into a team focused on playing competitive football.

The first gay men's football club in the UK, Stonewall Football Club was born.
