Mercersburg Outdoor Education (MOE) does not simply create outdoor enthusiasts, it offers a multi-disciplinary, total learning program to all members of the Mercersburg Community. Communication, leadership, and outdoor education are the backbone of this experience-based curriculum. MOE employs the outdoors as a vehicle to the development of many vital life skills, such as self-discipline, relationship building, character development, and a responsibility toward local and global communities. Challenging situations inherent to MOE's activities provide opportunities to put these skills into practice via highly qualified instruction. These activities include rock climbing, paddling, wilderness living/travel, advanced outdoor skills classes, leadership training programs, winter travel and climbing, and extended expeditions. Equal parts technical knowledge and direct experience are implemented in order to bolster and enrich students' future endeavors in life.
