About the Book
These photographs were taken over a three year period from 1988 to 1990. I was teaching multi-media and computer subjects at Prahran T.A.F.E. during this time. Many people here were my photography students and the others friends.
The photographs were the first serious attempts at photographing people. I had never bothered to photograph people prior, preferring to deal with inanimate material such as nature subjects. I had always considered people too difficult to deal with and not worth the effort. They tend to move round too much and talk; a rock is easier to deal with.
