About the Book
Finland is a place devoted to life. This country is a masterpiece of art which seems to exists to honour the power of nature. Here people live together with a fierce environment, experiencing everyday the incredible feeling of being bounded to the earth. Sometimes I dare to think that this would be a precious starting point to unravel the tangle of troubles of humankind. Winter is cold, true. Snow covers everything, often. But here you can walk surrounded by the sound of your steps hitting icy white stairs, while your thoughts are hidden by scarves and your hopes are kept warm by your glows. You can listen to the snow falling while you are waiting to find out your way home. Simply, here you can hear the silence and realize that talking is not the first way to communicate. Houses are the heart of life, they give you the place to warm up your melancholic day while looking at the sparks of life shining in the shadow of an endless dawn. Then, one day, you will find yourself looking through a window contemplating people roaming like spectra in a city which beats under a still white cover. And you will start to wonder what everyone is keeping secretly inside to fight against a nature that is not always a friend. I developed this work during a winter spent in Helsinki roaming between places and emotions.
