About the Book
This is the story behind high quality olive oil. From harvesting to tantalizing the palette the pages in this book lay out the process of making this liquid gold. By following the photographer on her journey you will also discover the culture of the people who make it happen. Take a tour through the olive orchards and surrounding communities of a southern Italian village.
Olivia Peters was born in 1980 and grew up around the lakes and mountains of central NH. She spent 7 summers, during high school and college, working on an organic vegetable farm near Squam Lake. As part of her studies in wildlife biology at the University of New Hampshire, she traveled to Norway focusing on moose in their natural habitat and later to Namibia learning about cheetahs and rhinos. Her camera came long on both trips. She continued to develop her image making skills at the New England School of Photography in Boston, graduating in 2005. The beauty of the natural world and the culinary delights of traditional cultures continue to inspire and motivate her photographic creations.
