About Chris Thurman
Chris started playing golf at age two, as his father Kim, was a golf pro at Riverview Golf and Country Club. At age seven, he joined the Junior Golf program at Riverview. He fell in love with the game and played all through high school.
While attending Shasta Junior College, Chris and his teammates brought home the state golfing championship in 1991. Chris then attended Oregon State University on a golfing scholarship for one year before transferring to Sacramento State. A regular on the golf course, Chris was known for having the farthest drive, even winning a qualifying contest for the RFMax World Long Drive Contest in 1998.
Throughout his lifetime Chris excelled at golf and played for recreation and in many tournaments with his family: brother Kim Jr., father Kim Sr., sister Lorie, Aunt's Sherry and Terry, cousin Randy, Grandmother Maxine, and his most favorite golfing partner was his Grandfather Bill.
