This book documents a small selection of images captured by photographer, John Evans, on his trips to the Isle of Wight.

Specialising in landscape and travel photography, the photographs try to convey the charm and beauty of this tiny gem of an island, just a stone’s throw from the British mainland.

I couldn't have done any of my books without Wiki, John...where would we be without it?! I look forward to seeing further volumes. Best Wishes, Ian.

Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like the shots. I can't lay claim to the text however, as this was taken from Wikipedia. I would have to bow to your better judgment on any inaccuracies. All the best, John

Beautiful studies of Totland pier and Alum Bay/Scratchell's Bay area without any stereotypical Needles pictures. Nice to see some profound etymological study re "Wight" - only one point: "gwaith" (work) in Welsh is masc. although in the meaning "time/occasion" it is fem. The Romans didn't change the native names of places they conquered so "Gwaith" is somewhere near the original name. As you might have gathered, I lived in West Wight for many years as a schoolboy before returning to my native Wales. Superb volume. Daliwch ati! Keep it up!
