Strokes of paint, jewel tone colors and the rolling landscape of Sonoma County . . . all are familiar elements for the painting knife of Jill Keller-Peters. Collectors know her for the peaceful and joyful interpretations of the world that surrounds her.
From the excerpt of Tom Hennen's poem,"The Life of a Day", the artist reflects upon her awareness of how elusive the appreciation of a day can be.
Jill Keller-Peters is a contemporary impressionist landscape and still life artist. Her distinctive paintings center around nature, and how light and atmosphere effect her carefully chosen subjects. Working with pure color out of the tube, Jill mixes layers of color on panels, deftly maneuvering the paint with a painting knife, using her knowledge of light and color to create luminous paintings. Jill creates original oil paintings, note cards and prints that she sells at galleries and open studios. Small items are sold over the internet. As a member of Daily Paintworks, she offers small works in on-line auctions.
