'Don't Open The Door To Ducks', is a cautionary tale about not believing everything you are told. Alice is a young girl who lives with her dog and cat. Alice leaves her pets in charge while she goes to buy milk but cautions them against allowing any ducks into the house. However a duck does arrive and tricks the pets into letting him in with disastrous results. The story is told entirely in short and simple rhymes as the reader views the world through the naive eyes of two halfwitted animals, allowing great scope for the exploration of sub plots and irony via the richly detailed illustrations.
