48 hours in a city of contrasts
by Graeme Pettit
About the Book
Stranded for a couple of days? Fancy a stopover?
Perhaps you want a City break...
Whatever the reasons, why not get a camera out and make the best of it.
Your author found himself in a city with no map, no language skills, no idea where to go or what to do. He had no prior knowledge of the city or its culture, so thought, why not just go for broke and explore?
He did this in Bangkok, and found something wonderful which opened his eyes and made him appreciate his lot generally.
Narrative is brief, and you are left to look at the images and form your own opinions for the most part, but 70 images tell their own story about Bangkok from something much deeper than just a tourist standpoint.
A travel guide? No.
A journey worth sharing? Maybe!
Written with the traveller, photographer, or those simply inquisitive who fancy something a little different in mind. Wherever you sit, you will find much to go see if you share the authors journey with him, and plenty of ideas to use in whichever city you end up in, but this concentrates on Bangkok - warts and all - a city of amazing contrasts.....
