About the Book
This 80-page, beautifully illustrated, book is about heraldry; a centuries old practice that most of us have encountered in one form or another, from sports teams to state and national symbols. It is specifically about the family history and heraldry of the Globe family.
Heraldry has rightly been described as the shorthand of history for it relates in symbolic form the hopes and aspirations, the achievements and failures of our ancestors. It also provides a rich pictorial source of genealogical and historical information.
The arms on these pages have been designed by the Serbian heraldist and artist Prof. Ljubodrag Grujic, Pancevo, Serbia, Heraldic Artist to the Royal House of Karageorgevich of Serbia.
The author, Richard Globe, was born in Canada but has lived most of his life in Europe; first in England before finally settling in Scandinavia. He is a Danish citizen and has traveled widely throughout North America, Asia and North Africa. Now retired, his hobbies include gardening, genealogy, family history and more recently, heraldry. This is the author's first book.
