Specifically for furnaces, the assessment is based on the section’s text, photos and diagrams. The competence assessment focuses on: furnace principles, uses, components and operation, combustion principles, fuels, types of flames, oil and gas burners, temperature control, tube skin points, pressure hazards, smoke management, controlling furnace emergencies, lighting off, etc.
We are confident that the level of the book is specific and appropriate for your apprentices.
Blurb is a well established publisher in California, USA; from their catalog you can have a look at the variety and excellent quality of the books they produce.
Hi, thanks for your prompt response. Would you be able to give me a preview of an assessment competency for example after the furnace unit.
I'm not familiar with BLURB website . Is it kosher?? Who are the publishers.
I train at a refinery college and the specific age group is 18 -20 yr old's---young apprentices. Would this book be too advanced in your respected opinion?. They get all the theory for two years but then on site they forget the fundamentals of equipment operation.
I need more info about this book before purchasing. Can anyone give me more indepth info . eg Is the operator asked how to start up a cent' pump/a PD pump/ a S+T heat ex etc...... Furnaces.....how to start up etc
