the art of object scanning
by Michael E. Stern
About the Book
Organic and inorganic materials fascinate me due to their intrinsic design qualities, I've been scanning these subjects since 2002.
Traditional macro photography methods have no place in my process, I use desktop scanners and occasionally a supplemental light source.
This book includes my favorite object scans: bones, feathers, plant materials and metal shavings. I see something in all of them.
I've been in the industry working as a professional photographer since 1980. I now specialize in portraits and time-lapse narratives but in the past I photographed buildings, products and was the principal photographer on over 60 books.
