This book is a compilation of several weekends of shooting the devastation that was caused by the June 1st Tornado in Springfield Mass. and surrounding communities. It was something I hope I never have to see again in my lifetime. The destruction I witnessed cannot truly be realized through photographs but this is the only means that we have to show people how defensive we are against mother nature when she releases her fury. This is somewhat of a historical record of what happened on this day in June 2011.
My name is Richard A. Marszalek. I’m currently a CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) living in Western Massachusetts. I’ve been an avid nature photographer hobbyist for many years and someday would like to do it professionally. I’m married to a wonderful woman who shares in my enthusiasm of nature photography. I take the pictures, and she does all the scrapbooking and journaling. We have two cats named Spats and Guinness who are also photographed quite often. I hope you enjoy my work as it pertains to nature’s beauty and sometimes it’s devastating power. Only GOD could make something so beautiful, intricate, mysterious, and powerful.
