About the Book
The Wagner College campus on Grymes Hill in the New York City borough of Staten Island is not a huge one, but it is rich in picturesque locales. This volume is an attempt to gather some of the most memorable of those images so that you can take them with you, no matter where you go.
They begin with a panoramic photo of the Verrazano Bridge, one of the enduring images of the world as seen from The Hill, followed by a few iconic shots of the modern campus.
Then we take you on a "walk around" that opens with a historic panoramic shot taken in the summer of 1918, showing the extent of the entire campus at the time, shortly before Wagner opened the new campus on Staten Island after moving from Rochester, New York. Many of the older buildings on campus are also introduced with historical photos, to help you place them in context.
Campus images are drawn from shoots conducted during the seasons in which school is in session. A number of them show winter scenes on Grymes Hill -- and if you had spent the winter here the last couple of years, they would look very familiar to you!
