Timothy tiger tending to ten tiny tots? Frantic folk frightened by Floyd, the flying frog? Welcome to this weird and wacky world of miniatures, where animals relate to people and other animals in surprising and sometimes unsettling ways. Bonus: each alphabet scene sports different chairs: sometimes just being sat upon or holding something up, but often being the stars of the whole scene. 48 different chairs grace the pages of this book. Enjoy!
In the 70s and 80s I made independent films with government grants and had various exhibitions of my still photography. In 1990 I got my teaching certificate, and shared my love of these art forms with my students for about 15 years. In 2007, when my daughter was six, she collaborated with me on writing my first book with Blurb, "The Maples on the Move" and its sequel, "The Maples Mix 'em Up" in 2010. Shortly after that I got the idea that I could make books with my primary students, too! I've collaborated with my classes on 7 books now. What a great motivator and community builder it's been for them: to work away on a class project (on a theme from the curriculum) and then to produce this very polished result. Parents can experience their work by purchasing a hard copy or previewing it for free on the internet. Check out my Bookstore where I've got 16 different titles. I'll be exhibiting at The Word on the Street on September 27th, 2015 at Harbourfront.
