This is a magic psychedelic book album. It is the only book in the world that I know of that is designed to be part of a record collection..I designed the book so that instead of buying my art someone can have it all in a book. The book is a document to Panamanian and American Psychedelia. After leaving Totem Design (Karim Rashid)in New York and running a restaurant in Easton Pennsyvania.I left my Williamsburg artistic friends and moved to Panama. In Panama I spent five years working on this design art book album and living in the favela Chorillo with my Blue Gran Torino. The music is also experimental. It is dub krautrock music with synth lazer sounds for free download on youtube and bandcamp.com.As a work of art it is a tribute to the experiences I had growing up in Texas and South Florida going to thrift stores, taking LSD,and shopping in record shops. I wanted an art book which was more like having a personal rock and roll experience .Something that interacts with the internet instead of just sitting there. This edition is the artists edition.I left errors in spelling and the back cover upside down.Presently I live in London I am trying to get it published and sold in Rough Trade. When I get it published I will remove the personal pic on the last page, fix the spelling, and change the back cover to right side up.I have to charge a bit more for this book because it is a very specific kind of thing.Psychedelic art is not mainstream so I only sell a few books a year. This is my first edition without publishers getting their greedy commercial hands on it .I collect psychedelic posters, albums, and esoteric art books. This is for the person like myself who is looking for something untainted and underground.A collector who understands the value of underground art books ,vintage clothing, experimental music ,psychedelia and record collecting. This is an artists book not an art book. Its not for everyone and that is fine by me.
My work is a good representation of who I am in the sense that every picture or song I write is directly linked to my life.I feel that aspect is what qualifies what to me what is "good" or "bad".The cosmos is the true judge of what survives. An artist really does not know if what he is doing is valid until others proclaim it so.It is a feeling game which requires instinct and determination.I have studied at some of the best schools in the country (pratt institute new york) and (corcoran) in Washington D.C. but everything I have been taught I have had to unlearn. In fact every rule I was taught in art school I try to break. As an art professor I have tried not create dependency and freedom has been my guide. To explain the work in one word I would have to say the work is about fusion.Instead of a linear way of working I like to work organically like Mathew Barney works. Although our work is different I like to move from one thing to another. My photos are a a collaboration between musi
