About the Book
Toronto is the city I have lived in for more than 50 years, It is a city with what is one of the most diverse populations in the world. It is also a city with a huge number of fests, one of the great lake, Lake Ontario on its southern shore, and a vibrant cultural life. During the time I have lived here, it has undergone and continuies to undergo a great many changes. While I have largely avoided photos of Toronto's iconic buildings in this book, I have included photos of buildings and other aspects of the city that no longer exist and some that had just come into being when I put the book together.

I think of myself as an elderly child of the digital revolution in photography. While I always enjoyed taking travel photos with my succession of little point and shoot 35mm cameras, I didn't become really serious about photography until after I acquired my first digital camera some 20 years ago. My favourite subjects are the places, people and objects I encounter on my travels, but I also very much enjoy photographing the birds, small animals, people and architecture of my own city, Toronto.
