About the Book
I worked on this project very much like my paintings. It was motivated by the "stuff" inside me. It is kind of like a personal fable that perhaps others can insert themselves into. It was my journey into a seemingly abysmal downward spiral, made even more real by my photography. But then, perhaps the fact that I had made it tangible in photographs allowed me a control of sorts over what had seemed a pre-ordained destiny of doom. If not control, then maybe just the vision to see the light of hope. Even the "dead " flowers that I had photographed the first day, I revisited 3 days later to discover that wonderful white lily. The book is hopefully an insight (however personally wrought, possibly universally applicable) into seeing and into living. Into surviving with grace and maybe even experiencing a small miracle of glorious or quiet rewards.
