Una Ciudad Mexicana A Mexican City
by Photography Riccardo Forte/Text Natalia Silva-Riccardo Forte
Cuernavaca grew up as a sort of refuge for people working in Mexico City, close to the Capital District, but far from its noise, its traffic and pollution. With my camera and our descriptions, my wife and I tried to highlight the peculiarities of this Mexican city: its warm climate, its tropical vegetation and flowers, its wonderful colored sky, the majestic volcano that dominates this city. And, of course, the vitality of its people, and the richness of its culture and history. If the readers have already been in Cuernavaca, I hope they will find in these images the same emotions and sentiments they felt during their stay. Otherwise, I hope they will find in this book a reason to visit this beautiful city.
PhD in History, specialized in American and Latin American History, Riccardo Forte studied photography in Italy and digital techniques at the New York Institute of Photography. He has been teaching at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City, living in the nearby city of Cuernavaca for thirteen years. His passion for history and photography and his love for this Mexican town were the starting points for creating this book. You can see more of Riccardo’s works at www.rf-artphotography.com
