Stranger in a Strange Land is a collection of portraits and scenes of cultures from the four corners of the world captured over the last 8 years by documentary and humanitarian photographer Rich Koechlein. These photographs capture the human spirit and look at the differences and the similarities of people from around the world. From the pride on the face of a school girl in a Guatemala slum to the sheer joy of children playing on a log in the South Pacific these images show how we are more alike than we think.

The quotes about photography, travel and people included throughout the book help describe his passions of travel and photography, and help inspire his ongoing work. Some quotes speak to why photography is so important, some look at how travel blurs borders, and some teach us simple life lessons.
