About the Book
This book showcases 81 species of birds from Belize, Costa Rica, Trinidad and the Galapagos Islands. Below the photos are both the common and scientific names of the birds, as well as information about evolution, plumage, nesting, courtship behavior, feeding, flight and migration, etc.
I was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. I earned my B.S. and M.A. + degrees from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. I worked in marine biological research at Columbia University's Lamont Geological Observatory in Palisades, New York, and taught biology and honors biology in a large regional high school in northern New Jersey. Wildlife photography has been my avocation all of my adult life. In the early '70s, I made a 16 mm film on ecosystem dynamics for use in my classroom. This was a sabbatical project, and my wife Pat and I lived in Nairobi, Kenya for a year during the shooting of the film. We traveled 13,000 miles throughout Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Since retiring to Sarasota, Florida in 1994, I have been traveling, with my wife Pat, to Central and South America and Europe, where I have done considerable photography. In 2015 we traveled to Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa to observe and photograph wildlife.
