Trees + Rocks is a portfolio of color landscape photographs taken at two historic U.S. parks in early 2009. The stereo images in the series uniquely represent the beauty, depth, and expansiveness of the locales’ mountain ranges, sequoias groves, cacti filled deserts, and canyon enclosed rivers. This portfolio was shot on 35mm film using a Kodak Stereo Film camera, scanned hi-resolution, and paired “side-by-side” with its complement. The images were then reduced to a single “anaglyph” image, where viewers are required to wear cyan/red glasses to perceive the effect of three-dimensions. The final pictures are digitally framed in black, mimicking the aperture of a vintage camera.
