About the Book
‘Beginning to See the Light’ is a study of light, movement and emotions, it is a photographic project that explores live-music photography as an art form rather than a subset of photojournalism. It pays tribute to the bygone eras of the 60s and 70s, when some of the most defining images of live music performances were captured.
This book sheds light on the dying art of gig photography and features what I view to be the ‘ten
commandments’ of live-music photography, and includes imagery from Sydney’s underground music scene.
