About the Creator
My textile work is sewing machine based and employs many different techniques including machine piecing, free motion stitching, applique, printing techniques, hand dyeing, fabric painting, free motion machine embroidery. Most of my work is developed from my drawings and all incorporate dense machine stitching using specialty threads which forms an integral part of the design. There are several themes running through my work both in regard to subject matter and technique. I explore new media, techniques and design on an ongoing basis and also enjoy working on paper and canvas. Australian flora, the natural environment and inspirations from recent travels feature in my work along with bold colour and original fabrics.
