About the Book
In a world that rushes in all directions at once, at a frenetic speed, we are called to find the quiet place of sanctuary where we can be still and meet with God.
Sitting in a hotel room in Bamako, Mali, feeling totally exhausted I listened to a song written by a friend. It described exactly how I felt at that moment. In the following weeks I have pondered over the concept of "Sanctuary" in the context of a place where we meet with God. In a series of photographs and random words and thoughts this is the result.
I hope it will enable you to explore and find your place of sanctuary and meeting with God.

Having initially trained as a teacher, I later became a Salvation Army officer in the UK. 16 years of overseas service took me to Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya. Following surgery in Kenya for cancer I returned to the UK in 2003. In January 2008 I took up my present appointment as a finance trainer at the Salvation Army's International Headquarters in London. This role takes me to all corners of the earth.
