About the Book
The DEMONS series, a collaboration with multimedia artist Lance Olsen, was initially commissioned by Leica Camera in 2003 to explore the artistic applications of their 90mm f/4 Macro-Elmar M lens. A portion of the first prints appeared in Leica World issue 2-2003 and an exhibition in Hamburg, Germany.
The series eventually grew into an extended study of Olsen creating improvised dances in public parks and streets. The resulting body of photographs break the performances down into individual movements, and these stills can potentially be re-sequenced into an endless number of dances, no longer requiring the physical presence of the performer.
