This photographic essay comprises colour and monochrome images of Venice interspersed with quotations mostly about the city.
The photographs include gondoliers; palazzi; magnificent sculptures; modern graffiti; the famous Venice Carnival; and the picturesque Burano, often referred to as the artists' island.
If a reader is inspired to go to Venice - or to return there - the author will be satisfied.
I have taken photographs for many years. In my pre-digital days, I used to take transparencies. My favourite activities are travel and wildlife photography.
