This photo story is an experimental personal project by Norwich -based photographer Mick Buston.
Mick Buston started working initially on a self-assigned 12 month photo project charting the progress of Tonbridge based electric folk-rock four-piece The Good Ship Band in January 2010 which is due for publication early 2011.
Since first hearing the bands ballad Boomerang Girl, Mick held an ambition to bring the song to life which eventually culminated in the production of this photo story book and a companion music video.
Mick said "Every song or piece of music can, and will, be interpreted differently by the person who hears it. Our own personal experiences and emotions shape our interpretations and that is what makes music such a powerful and deeply personal medium.
I knew when I first heard The Good Ship Band perform Boomerang Girl that I wanted to bring it to life and to expose it to a wider audience in some way. That way has materialised in the creation of this photo story of my own personal interpretation of a brilliant song"
With no available budget in place for this project, it has relied on the generosity of those involved donating time and resources for free to bring it to fruition.
Since completion this photo story has also been adopted by The Good Ship Band as a music promo for the release of Boomerang Girl as a single. To view please visit www.youtube.com/thegoodshipband
