About the Book
I have been producing an annual collection of photos since 2002. Originally they were part of a calendar that ran January through January, hence the Twelve + One. After awhile, custom calendars became too tedious, so it became just a collection of photos - for people who already owned calendars! 2012 is the second year of publication in book format.
I was born in Chicago, but have lived in Idaho for more than 35 years. This has given me the opportunity to explore the mountains and rivers of the American West. Whether hiking, rafting, or touring by car, I have always brought my camera along to capture the scenic wonders along the way. My home in Idaho Falls gives me the privilege of having Yellowstone National Park as my 'home field'. Yellowstone is a world-class site for both wildlife and geological features. The national park preserves the heart of the Yellowstone country in Wyoming, but the effects of the great Yellowstone volcanic system extend across Idaho and on into Montana. Many of my best photos and favorite memories originate in the greater Yellowstone region, and I hope to share them with as many people as possible.
