“Growing up too fast never seemed like a possibility but, in retrospect, trying to grow up may have been the biggest mistake of my life.”
More concerned with telling other's stories than writing her own, Rachel Plumley a junior journalism major at the University of Texas aspires to tell the truth of the world while taking a humanistic approach. Rachel's love for all things journalism began in 5th grade with a job as a local sports photographer for mckinneysports.net. By the end of her sophomore year of high school, she had been published over 45 times by a subsidiary of the Dallas Morning News and other professional publications. While she has already published two photography books and works as a photojournalist for the Cactus yearbook, as well as a portrait photographer for Photo Texas, her ambitions go much further. Long term, she aspires to work as a photojournalist for the Associated Press, hoping to be on the front lines of major world events.
