About the Book
There is almost a magical quality to the personality and work of Chandu. Because of his care and goodness the people who call him “friend” have an extremely high regard for him and respect Chandu immensely. He has a knack and a real desire to help everyone in his existence even to the point of denying himself what he might need in order to provide for another human being.
In the same way he has a selfless and amazing way of working before the camera. He seems to have a natural ability to know exactly what a director might want for a particular shoot. When he is modeling for publication he is what many photographers might consider a perfect model. His experience in the television and movie fields as well as his keen intellect provides him the knowledge to know what is needed for the final layout. Confidence in front of the camera as well as rugged good looks is only a part of Chandu’s exceptional qualities. His education and understanding learned through his own photographic experience gives him the ability to provide a tender, mellow and sometimes comical touch to his work when it is required.
For 18 years I worked as an artist at Hallmark cards, which allowed me to learn how to see and look for that unusual perspective. That job taught me to see details that helped to make something different. Certainly, when taking photos I applied what I was learning to my photographic work, too. I have taught photography classes for a local junior college which helped me to share my talent in teaching others the art of photography. Besides traveling in my own country my journeys have taken me all over Western and Eastern Europe, Iran, Lebanon, and I have made friends in every country I visited. One winter I wrote “Once Upon a Bavarian Winter” (Publish America - ISBN: 1591296412) a book about a stay with a Bavarian wood carver and his family. While living with the German family in the deep snows of an alpine winter, I found that I loved the company of foreign people. I realized - like traveling - I was learning so much by being with these people.
