Click to preview Butterflies in North Carolina photo book

I visited Maggie Valley in the northwestern corner of North Carolina (Haywood County) in April 2011. I was there for my hobby, taking photographs of butterflies, and to enjoy the beautiful and quiet countryside. I had a good time, also on a hike in Cataloochee Valley, part of the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This book is made to record and share my enjoyment. It shows pictures of the 22 species of butterflies I "shot" in my 6 days in North Carolina, specifying where and when I took the picture. Highlights to me are photos of a Harvester, a West Virginia White, a Sachem (skipper), Spicebush Swallowtails and beautiful pictures of different Eastern Tiger Swallowtails.

In addition to pictures of butterflies the book contains pictures of butterfly habitats, an interesting moth, an Eastern Tent Caterpillar, a red cardinal and elk (wapitis).
