Today terms like sustainability, green economy and smart growth have become part of the popular lexicon. This increased consciousness should ostensibly herald a new paradigm with regard to public spaces fundamentals of urban form. Such growing awareness, coupled with flourishing urbanization, demands designers and planners re-examine proven schemas of place-making, as well as, novel visioning to address the challenges this societal and material circumstances stipulate.


About the Author


Designer, photographer, urban enthusiast-
Earned masters in Landscape Architecture from Morgan State’s School of Architecture and Planning; with an emphasis in Urban Ecology and Design. Previous academic majors in Art History and Anthropology remain a dominant aspect in my survey of contemporary urban spaces. My ongoing thesis examines the interventions of urban culture as a regenerative locus for urban landscapes.
