About the Book
Pictorial of Railroading in Oregon (Volume 1)
Dan's interest in railroading was sparked as an adult and his photography has been published in Pacific RailNews, RailNews, and CTC Board. In addition, over the last ten years, Dan wrote four feature articles including two on Southern Pacific's Cascade Line, one on Alaska Railroad and co-authored a fourth on the Modoc Detours with the NorthWest Rails crew. Also Dan has edited news columns on Alaska Railroad, Central Oregon & Pacific, Montana Rail Link, and Kansas City Southern Railway. He continues to edit the Alaska Railroad news column for Railroads Illustrated magazine. When Dan is not photographing trains you can find him at work at Symantec Corporation. Otherwise Dan and his wife Michelle are home, residents of Monroe, Oregon, and within shooting distance of Portland & Western Railroad's Westside branch.
