About the Book
Whether floating on her barge in France or painting in her Florida studio, Judy Flescher’s creative subconscious is dreaming up paintings that stir the soul to the core. Her gripping canvases weave a tale through her subconscious.
“Every painting is an emotional expression of what I am feeling, looking at or remembering,” Flescher says.
“Although many times my work is a personal record of places, people or events, it may not bear a resemblance to them, but rather my impression or sense of them.”
Working in mixed media, Flescher paints with acrylics on canvas, wooden doors and copper panels, often combining collage elements into the compositions. For her, the subject matter is only a vehicle to get into the painting; what is important to her is the composition.
Her paintings are truly about her feelings, “My color palette changes drastically from pastel and dark colors according to my mood – it is a direct reflection of my life.”
“We are all touched, sooner or later, with tragedy and our own mortality. Art helped me to heal emotionally after my bout with breast cancer. It gave me hope, which I want to share with others.”
More than 100 paintings are featured.
