About the Book
This summer I was given the opportunity to travel across Western Europe, in conjunction with studying abroad in Germany. With the support of my parents and friends, I backpacked for 10 weeks, starting in Heidelberg, and ending on the Isle of Canna in the Inner Hebrides in Scotland. This book records my incredible adventure, both as I look back on the trip, and through excerpts from the travel blog I kept.
Over the course of the summer I met people from around the world, whom I still keep in contact with. I studied for a week, worked on a farm for a few weeks and even lived on a remote island. Some places were remote, others major metropolitan centers, some on the coast and others landlocked. I stayed in hostels, houses, cottages and apartments; traveled by train, bus, boats and even a cable car.
In the end though, its not about the cities, how I traveled, or even the people to an extent, but discovering my sense of adventure and realizing how supportive my friends and family truly are.
I am very blessed to have gone, and even more blessed to be able to come home.
