This ambrotype portrait series is a study in the perception of history as seen in the human face. Work began on this project in 2002 and continues today. The wet plate photographic process however came into existence some 150 years ago. The initial association with the look of these pieces is ancestral, with no obvious clues to period. The contrast between modern subject and the antiquated technique, with its imperfections and uncertain outcome, results in a further inquiry into the untold story behind each individual face.
